I can’t speak directly to the Dem side of things, but for Republicans, it’s mostly just a crap shoot. Someone who just joined one of our committees as a senior advisor apparently got the job by randomly reaching out to someone on linkedin and got offered the job during his coffee chat. Very much a “YMMV” situation I guess.
Wow, lucky ![]()
I heard there’s gonna be an opening at Senate RPC covering judiciary issues.
I thought their GC covered that. Did something happen to him?
He got fired for having an accident in the middle of a briefing
Wtf happened?
That’s not what I heard. I heard he got a job at CFTC. Though I guess these are not mutually exclusive possibilities.
I don’t think that’s what happened.
I also only heard that he got a job at CFTC.
I’ve been to all of the recent briefings and haven’t seen/heard anything about this.
Sen. Capito’s office may have an LC opening soon. It’s a well run office with a good chief, so would recommend if anyone knows someone junior looking to get their foot in the door.
I vaguely heard something about how a bunch of tax staffers are left / leaving on the R side and offices are scrambling to replace them.
Capito’s office is hiring an LC if anyone is interested. The current guy is leaving to work elsewhere in government
The Capito office is a solid office with a great chief if anyone is looking at it.
Do you know covering what topic areas?
Agreed. Especially on the point of regulatory policy - a lot of the agencies are pumping out regs at an impressive pace. So much for the death of chevron.
Be careful about admin jobs though because some of agencies are woefully understaffed, especially legal. You will be hit with a massive workload with no support
I heard banking (Scott) might be looking to hire. Not surprising giving their ever rotating staff.
I’ve heard about several openings there.
