Warsh

He has won the battle of the Kevins. Was anyone surprised?

typical of this administration to get a hedge fund robber baron to run our monetary policy

this country is fucked

Not sure how this is going to actually play out given Tillis’s stance on Fed noms post-Powell DOJ investigation

Anyone have any idea why Judy Shelton is still at a 2% chance for getting the Fed chair nomination on Kalshi?

That’s really bizarre given that the kalshi bet I saw specified the first nominee. I don’t know if this would pay out even if Trump suddenly decided to swap him out with her.

Too bad he isn’t re-running. Otherwise Kevin could ask his wife to make a big campaign donation :face_with_tongue:

Inefficient markets…

What do you mean by re-running?

Tillis isn’t re-running for Senator

Ah. That makes more sense.

Maybe Warsh’s wife paid off Scott instead

Banking committee chair Tim Scott seeks to defuse standoff over criminal probe of current Fed chair that is complicating Kevin Warsh’s nomination for the post

Any updates on how Warsh’s nom is going? Will he get in on schedule?

Admin is doing some stuff behind the scenes bvased on what i’ve heard. Sounds like they quietly switched the prosecutor on the case. From what i’ve heard, the new guy is planning to just announce that they looked into it and found nothing prosecutable and will drop the case, allowing tillis to save face. What a farce.

@Topher any thoughts on this? Federal Reserve urges judge to deny bid to revive Jerome Powell probe subpoenas

I thought the admin now wants to quash the probe so that they can get Warsh through?

With Bondi gone is the DoJ still investigating the Fed?

Unfortunately, it looks like they still are. This hearing is gonna be such a shitshow

@GOPLD are you the one that goes to the Monday banking meetings for the Rs? Curious to hear what they say next week.

Does anyone know if Warsh got his paperwork in yet?
