Senate Job Hunt Mega Thread

Sorry I’ve been swamped at work. Mostly housing, but I’m willing to branch out into related areas.

DM me - I know some offices that are hiring in that area

Does anybody know anything about Sen. McCormick’s office? I heard that he’s hiring for a HC LA, but haven’t heard much about the working environment given that he’s a new senator.

Amateurs. Scrambling for scraps. You’re complaining about $18 an hour? For that, you should be grateful for the sheer proximity to power. You think a ‘secret job’ is something you hear about in a coffee shop? A real opportunity doesn’t come with a salary; it comes with a ‘thank you’ in a sealed envelope. It’s called providing a premium level of constituent service.

Stop looking for a ‘job’ and start looking for leverage. Find a problem someone important needs solved quietly, whether it’s a trade issue or a simple certification for a friend’s business. That’s your interview.

My advice? Don’t worry about the job board. Worry about diversifying your personal portfolio. A government paycheck is temporary, but tangible assets… those are forever.

I’ve heard hes’ a bit of a hardass. Runs his office as though he’s still in the military and people aren’t allowed to quit. Definitely doesn’t live by the “radical transparency” mantra from Bridgewater.

Anyone here know someone in Duckworth’s office?

Heard Moreno might have an opening for a banks LA

DM me too - a few personal offices on the House side have LA spots where the portfolio includes the financial services / housing stuff. Good offices too that aren’tabusive

Graeter left? Did he go downtown?

Ugh, thanks. I have a shitty work environment now and I’m not sure how keen I am on stepping into another. How hard is it to switch offices after breaking onto the Hill? This is the only bite i’ve gotten in almost a year of trying.

Nah he apparently went to go back to work for his family business. Apparently he’s the heir to a huge ice cream empire.

Oh wow, he finally pulled the trigger on that. Never understood why he wanted to spend time here when he had that waiting for him. Good for him.

DM me - I’m pretty friendly with some ppl in that office.

Schatz is hiring for a housing LA

Thanks! But Schatz is a dem right? I think you might’ve missed my earlier post that I’d prefer working for an R

Looks like it’s official.

DM me. I know a couple banking/housing LAs who are interviewing. Can pass your info along before the jobs get listed.

I should’ve asked him if I could get free samples before he left.

Good flag. Conner is a good guy to work with.
