Any news there?
I heard something about it coming today tor tommorrow.
I heard from a career staffer at OMB that worked on it, that they’re planning to cut everything that isn’t explicitly statutorily required… which would probably be like 50%+ of all civilian government employees
Isn’t that a tacit agreement that most of these employees are engaged in activities that Congress hasn’t authorized?
Are these RIFs going to impact hill jobs?
Not directly. Most proximate impact is going to be the flood of resumes from laid off agency ppl
I guess? I’m not a Congressional appropriations expert, but our GC explained to us that Congress gives pretty wide latitude to the agencies in interpreting their appropriations language. My understanding is that your typical appropriations bill basically just says something like $xx dollars for headcount to pursue xyz goals and the details are left up to the admin.
Still nothing…
Even the betting markets think the juice is gone
Sounds like Mick Mulvaney is expecting the Dems to cave after Oct 15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Itx-v6jL_24
Vought better enjoys it while he can. Once we take the the House back, he’s gonna get fucked by House Oversight. Hope he enjoys spending all his time (and money) just defending himself for his illegal actions.
This country is fucked. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5550188-government-layoffs-trump-administration/
I can’t believe they still had ppl left at dept of education.
Just hope other ppl got their covid shots while they were still available. WHO knows that this is gonna do to vaccine availability
So will the Dems finally cave?
If you can trust this, I think the answer for now remains no.
