I’ve never been through a cancelled August recess before. How do most offices handle this if I already booked travel?
Depends on the office. One of my former staff directors made it clear that they never make anyone cancel travel that they received approval for.
My current SD on the other hand…I think there’s a good chance he makes the whole office cancel, even the staff assistants and interns.
Your current SD at least understands what it means to keep standards up
It’s just a part of the job. It’s a privilege to work here and you should understand that “other duties as assigned” includes the possibility of last minute changes to vacation schedules.

I guess it could make a difference at the 3rd circuit. Would explain why he cares so much about getting Bove and Mascott on but not sure why we’d care about all the other judges.
