My guy in leadership is already telling me to cancel my August vacation plans.
The idea of a congressional recess is not just about a vacation. It’s a time for lawmakers to connect with their constituents, hold town halls, and get a better understanding of the issues facing their districts. Canceling it for purely political reasons is a dangerous precedent.
Cry me a river. I haven’t had a vacation in five years. I work 80 hours a week in a real job. These politicians can suck it up and do their jobs. Maybe if they worked a little harder, the country wouldn’t be in such a mess.
Trust me: it would be even worse if they didn’t go on recess.

I’m hearing that the issue is a lot of the noms don’t have their paperwork done and that’s what is actually causing the issues with processing them.
Times like this I’m really happy to be working in the oddly more functional House

I just heard back from my guy in leadership. He says to expect to be in this weekend and maybe things will bleed into early next week. Mostly going to be noms this week.
