What an bizarre meeting today… Insane that someone would unironically claim that the EU is the US’s greatest geopolitical adversary ahead of China and Russia because of their stance on gender issues.

That was bad, but the other guy (Peter something I think?) was talking about how Chinese nationals are able to legally funnel tens of millions into US elections just by getting an EB-5 green card sounds incorrect? I’m not a campaign finance law expert, but that doesn’t sound correct to me.
Yeah, it made sense that he clarified that these individuals can’t vote, but I thought you have to be a US citizen to even donate in US elections.
common misunderstanding - FECA defines the term “foreign national” and specifically notes an individual is not a foreign national if they are lawfully admitted for permanent resident. The FEC only prohibits foreign nationals, which means a Chinese national with a Green Card is legally not a “foreign national” for election purposes. It’s kind of an insane loophole when you think about it.

I think it was someone from the Federalist. But yeah, he was claiming the EU’s stance on gender issues and human rights was a greater threat than any military threat from China/Russia.
Did they bring up anything on reconciliation 2.0?
Yeah. The House Freedom Caucus guy was talking up the need to get HSA reform that got knocked out last year into Reconciliation 2.0 and it sounds like RSC is putting out some update next week on the roadmap for Reconciliation 2.0. Of course this is assuming Jim Baird survives his car crash and can still work.
