The state of the “left” is a joke. Platner’s four stints in Iraq clearly didn’t fulfill his desire to murder brown people in the service of American hegemony, so he sought out a private-sector mercenary contract to finish the job.
If you want to call yourself a “leftist”, try being even slightly critical of someone with that track record. Resisting the empire’s violence is supposed to be the foundation of this movement.
