Breaking news: The House voted down an extension of FISA’s Section 702, effectively ensuring the nation’s warrantless wiretapping authority will expire Friday night.
The vote was 198-218, falling far short of the two-thirds majority needed for passage. The short-term extension didn’t even garner a majority of the House.
